Description

This evergreen conifer quickly reaches 30-60' tall and 15-30' wide. Foliage has soft, green needles. Juvenile trees have a symmetrical-pleasing, pyramidal habit; with age, tree has an open form with horizontal and ascending branches. Small cones are brown colored and resinous. Bark is brown color with straight vertical central leader. This tree does best in full sun with fertile, moist, well draining soil. It does tolerate urban air pollution and salts. Many cultivars now available.
