Description

The Oregon White Oak is a deciduous tree that reaches 60' tall and wide. It does best in full sun. It has a rounded, large crown with heavy, ascending, crooked branches. Bark is smooth and brown, changing to rough looking with age. Leaves are leathery, small, lobed and dark green. Foliage may turn to brown or dull red or gold. Acorns have sharp point on them. This Oregon native does not like summer watering so don't plant them around sprinklers. Roots are tap roots. Rhododendrons do well under this oak. This tree attracts wildlife. Slow growing.
