Deschampsia cae. 'Goldgehaenge'
Tufted Hair Grass
Description
This ornamental grass reaches 18"-24" tall and 24" wide. Narrow leaves stay green all year except in cold climates. During the summer, small flowers of different colors (gold, silver, purple and green) rise above foliage. Flowers turn yellowish tan after bloom period. Foliage turns straw color in winter. This grass can tolerate full to part sun. It prefers well draining, rich, moist soil but will tolerate average soils. Best time to prune is winter: cut foliage down to tidy up plant.
