Description
This broadleaf evergreen shrub can slowly reach 1-12' tall and 2-6' wide. It has a dense oval habit in full sun but a sprawling open habit in shade. Foliage is glossy, dark green and small. Tiny, greenish-white flowers bloom in summer. Pinkish-red fruit appear in late summer or early fall. It tolerates full sun but needs good air circulation. Mature plants tolerate complete shade. This shrub can be pruned to look like a small tree when mature. It tolerates poor soil, heat and coastal conditions. Can be used for screens and hedges.
