Spiraea X vanhouttei
Spirea
Description
This broadleaf deciduous shrub reaches 3' tall and wide but may be larger depending on sun exposure. It exhibits fountain-like growth. During spring, showy white flowers are borne in rounded clusters to highlight the small, finely textured, blue-green foliage. It does best with full sun with fertile, well-draining soil. Do not plant in containers. Prune to remove one third of oldest stems to refresh plant in early summer. Many cultivars available, with different leaf and flower colors.
