Description

The Colorado Blue Spruce is an evergreen conifer native to the Rocky Mountains. It can reach 30-60' tall and 15-30' wide. Blue-green needles are stiff and sharp-pointed. This tree has a conical shape. Prune to retain central leader. It does best in full sun with rich, moist soil. Established trees tolerate drought. Mature trees have dark gray bark that is furrowed with sticky resin. Established trees are wind tolerant.
