Long lived Texas native, a colorful perennial thriving in the tough desert. Petite, it grows to 2-3' tall & wide with sprawling form. Herbaceous stems are lined with narrow, bright green leaves. Flower spikes are densely packed with rich violet-blue flowers. Recovers quickly in spring. Regular summer water will maintain lush foliage & flowers. Not fussy about soil. Native C&E Tx 3500-6000' rocky limestone soil. Long bloom period April thru fall. Full sun. Fast draining soil w/ humus. Winter bare
