This evergreen perennial has foliage that less than 2' high. It is known more for its decorative, grass-like foliage than the flowers. Spikes of pale lilac flowers bloom from July through October. This clumping plant does not like wet soil or frost, as the leaf tips will turn brown or yellow. It does best in half sun. This plant is fire prone. Please use caution when planting near your home.

This is an evergreen shrub that grows to a size of 8' tall with long, arching branches. Cotoneaster exhibits dark green leaves above and gray beneath with dusky red fruit. It requires sun to part shade with little or no watering. This plant is tough enough to naturalize in many areas in CA, and should be considered potentially invasive.
