Botanical name:Nandina domestica

Nandina domestica is a graceful upright shrub that grows from 3'-6' in height. It gets its name from its bamboo-like growth habit. When thinned from the center it bears a remarkable resemblance to bamboo. It is best used in groups. It can be used in a shaded patio or out in a shrub border with full sun. An interesting feature of Heavenly Bamboo is the bronze color in the new growth when planted in full sun. It also bears clusters of white flowers in the spring.

Crimson Queen Japanese Maple

Botanical name:Acer palmatum 'Crimson Queen'

This beautiful tree reaches 10' tall and wide, growing at a moderate pace. Acer needs afternoon shade in hot inland areas and regular watering and more during hot summer months. It prefers acid, well draining soil. Leaves are dissected, with an overall weeping habit. Foliage is burgundy in spring, changing to red in fall before dropping. This is a spectacular tree for Asian style gardens.

'Bloodgood' slowly grows to 20'-25' high and 20' wide. Deciduous, toothed, lobed leaves are red in spring and summer, changing to scarlet in fall. This popular Japanese maple needs protection from drying winds and full sun in hot summer areas. It does well in dappled shade. It needs well draining, moist, acidic soil. This is a spectacular tree all 4 seasons.

David viburnum

The David viburnum is an evergreen shrub that remains at 1'-3' tall and 4' wide. It has leathery, glossy green leaves, white flowers and on female plants, and blue fruit. This shrub does best in partial shade with acidic soils. -Cornflower Farms

Oriental Arborvitae

Botanical name:Platycladus orientalis

This evergreen shrub will reach about 25' tall and 15' wide. It has small leaves that are variegated gold, green and yellow; the leaves turn golden yellow in the fall. This is a highly combustible plant. This plant is fire prone. Please use caution when planting near your home.
